RVFD: SAVING CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT WHILE TEACHING SAFETY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, July 30, 2007
(Mission, KS) - It’s a kids worst nightmare and a parent's dream come true...the end of the Summer and the beginning of a brand new school year.
This annual event brings a great opportunity and responsibility for teachers and firefighters to pass along life-saving skills to children.
As educators and fire prevention professionals prepare for Fire Prevention Week, October 7-13, a brand new series of DVDs is being released to compliment educator’s efforts in teaching fire safety and fire prevention to pre-school and elementary school-aged students.
Rainbow Valley Fire Department presents RVFD: The Fire Education Series™. The DVD’s combine top-notch animation, live-action video, famous voices, and most importantly, tested teachings that save lives.
The series already has educators talking. Dr. Deb Yagmin, Principal of Chipita Park, Colorado says, “Fire Prevention Week has never been so easy to incorporate into our school year! Now, we can reinforce this life-saving education for Pre-K to third grade students year round, not just once a year.” The elementary school principal adds, “The DVDs are educational, easy to fit into our schedule and lots of fun for students to watch and discuss.”
Retired Phoenix Fire Chief Alan Brunacini also is backing the effort. “RVFD: The Fire Education Series™ is very good and well produced. It has solid basic content for fire safety. I highly recommend it for any educator."
RVFD: The Fire Education Series™ is perfect for the fire education professional or the individual classroom teacher. There are nine DVD’s in RVFD: The Fire Education Series™. Freddy, Pam and the five life-like talking rescue vehicles will teach fire safety and fire/burn prevention in a fun, entertaining and memorable way, all peppered with a healthy dose of songs and games.
