a place where very important decisions and actions take place.
In this episode, Freddy the Fireman and Pam the Paramedic
will visit a real fire station where children will learn Key Safety
Messages they need to know about the Fire Station.

DVD Series #1 - Episode 2: "Fire Equipment "
As if the actual event of a fire isn’t scary enough, the equipment that our brave firefighters use during a rescue can seem even scarier. To a child hiding in a closet during a fire, the sight of a firefighter wearing a mask and bunk gear can be paralyzing. In this episode, the RVFD gang will visit a real fire station where kids will learn all about a firefighter’s gear including how each piece of equipment works and what firefighters look like while performing their critical tasks.
• Types of jobs: Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, Driver
• Bunker gear: pants, coat and boots
• Learn how an air tank and mask works

DVD Series #1 - Episode 3:"Fire Trucks "
Kids agree: fire trucks are one of the coolest things about being a firefighter. They’re big and fast and make LOTS of noise. But
have you ever wondered why there are so many different kinds
of fire trucks? This episode will introduce kids to the various
types of firefighting vehicles and to the specially trained
professionals it takes to drive and safely operate each rig.
• Types: pumpers, ladders, quints, airport, water barge
and airplanes
• Parts: hose, ladder, pumps, lights
• Learn how each vehicle has a special job helping fight fires
• Safety: caution around the trucks (do not enter the street; stay on the sidwalk when a fire truck approaches) |
